The Woodhaven Cultural & Historical Society has a special free event planned for the end of this month. On Friday, June 26, we will host our first-ever nighttime walking tour of Woodhaven. Participants will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of 96th Street and Jamaica Avenue before heading west toward 80th Street. Along the way, we'll visit the sites of Woodhaven's former movie theaters and highlight many other historic and interesting locations along Jamaica Avenue.
This event is FREE and open to everyone. It's approximately 1-mile walking distance, with a number of stops along the way. Our last stop will be the filming location of Liam Neeson's "Run All Night" - shown in the film as "The Old Abbey Pub" but known today as Geordie's Joint.
